Not everybody likes to do much exercise. This slow walking 6-hours trek, with a lot of individual breaks for you, gives a fantastic impression of the dense tropical rainforest around Bukit Lawang in a more relaxed way. We recommend this 1-day tour also for families with children and people who are not sporty.

In the morning at 8.30 am our English speaking and experienced guide will pick you up at your guesthouse.  After a short walk you will cross the Bohorok River by a canoe, then you go up the hill directly to the orangutan feeding platform. Until the feeding time is over, it lasts  about one hour, you can enjoy and observe your red-haired cousins from a quite close distance and take pictures to take home. Afterwards you will continue your trek through the rainforest to a small creek and stop there again for a rest at the clear water. Then you will hike up again and walk around for one hour close to unforgettable scenic viewpoints overlooking the whole valley of the Bohorok River.

 At this 1-day trek you will have a big chance to see wildlife in the jungle. Your guide will point out a variety of creatures and plant species to you while giving lots of explanations about the rainforest and the biodiversity. If you are lucky many gibbons, Thomas leaf monkeys, pigtail macaques, flying squirrels, Sumatran peacocks, hornbills and also wild orangutans might cross your way. During your breaks, up to half an hour, you can relax and observe the scenery around you and enjoy fresh fruits taken by your guide. 

Around noon you will stop at an amazing waterfall hidden in the jungle where you can swim in the fresh, clear water before you are enjoying your local lunch. Afterwards you will trek gently around for 2 hours more and explore the magical rainforest up stream to the Bohorok River. At the end of your jungle adventure you will still have much fun!  Your "jungle taxi" with your personal captain will bring you back to your guesthouse by traditional tube-rafting down the Bohorok River.
