Our focus is on quality rather than quantity, so our maximum group size for trekking is 8 people.

Our English speaking guides are certified by the local ITGA-HPI (Indonesia Tourist Guides Association – Himpunan Pramuwisata Ind.) and have excellent knowledge of plants and wildlife in our region.

The official price list issued by the Indonesia Tourist Guides Association is based on a minimum group size of 3 people. Our EcoTravel prices are based on a minimum group size of 2 persons only (except observation treks!). There are no additional costs, even if no other guests join the trek.

But there is a small surcharge of 2 Euros for each trek because unlike other guides in the Gunung Leuser National Park our team offers extra services regarding safety and information plus some free equipment. On top, we regularly invest this surcharge in our challenging  "Keep The Jungle Green"-project and offer our guests purified water on EcoTravel treks.
We also adhere to the official rules of the national park office - and pay the required entrance permit to the national park for each guest.

The official feeding of the orangutans through national park rangers has recently been stopped. But we are happy to announce that this has hardly any impact on our EcoTravel jungle trekking tours as our guides still include a stop at the viewing area which is still highly popular with a lot of orangutans!
